Posted: September 12, 2014

Hope International University once again has been named as one of America"s "Best Colleges" by U.S. News & World Report. In the newly-released 2015 listings, HIU earned the highest ranking in our history, moving up into the Top 20 Regional Colleges (West). The vast West Region extends from Texas and Oklahoma to Alaska and Hawaii.

The U.S. News rankings, released on September 9, are widely considered the most prestigious among such published college comparisons. This year's 30th edition of Best Colleges includes data on nearly 1,800 colleges and universities. Eligible schools are ranked on up to 16 measures of academic excellence, including graduation rates, selectivity and freshmen retention. This data helps families compare schools, narrow their searches and make informed decisions.

"Since 1983, U.S. News has strived to provide students and their families with the best data and information available to help navigate the college process" said Brian Kelly, editor and chief content officer. "The host of intangibles that makes up the college experience can't be measured by a series of data points. But for families concerned with finding the best academic value for their money, the U.S. News Best Colleges rankings provide an excellent starting point for the search." "HIU has enjoyed what could be considered three of its best years in decades. Recent visits by our accrediting associations resulted in numerous commendations and acknowledgements of excellent programs, faculty and staff," said HIU President Dr. John Derry. "We have worked very hard to control expenses and improve facilities while retaining some of the most outstanding faculty and professional administrators with whom I have ever had the privilege to work."
