Wishing You Peace and Joy
December 15, 2022
Dear members of the SLU community,
This week, students wrap up exams, papers and projects. Faculty will turn in final grades. Those of us who prefer our books in non-digital form will return them to the library, and we will get dorm rooms and offices ready to sit empty for the quiet days of winter break.
It is the Advent season in the Catholic liturgical calendar. Especially during this time, our routine end-of-semester rituals offer opportunities for reflection. We savor moments of peace. We prepare, individually and collectively, for the joy of Christmas.
To all in the SLU community, who represent many faith traditions: I hope that this winter break brings you time for rest and contemplation. I also wish you many joyful days with family, friends, and loved ones.
As Fran and I celebrate the Christmas holiday, we will be reflecting with gratitude on the gifts each of you brings to Â鶹´«Ã½. Wherever you travel or gather, may you carry the hope and joy of the SLU community with you.
May God’s blessings be with you, this Christmas and throughout the new year.
