StudentLoans.net, who publishes financially-centered data to help students with their current and future financial decisions, recently ranked Hope International University #3 among the "Top 250 Private Colleges that Give Students the Least Private Student Debt." Private student debt refers to loans taken out through private lenders.
Using Peterson's 2015 Financial Aid Data set, they calculated a list of the top 250 private colleges in relation to private student debt. The average debt per graduate was calculated by multiplying the percentage of students with private debt by the average private debt per borrower. This value was then sorted from lowest to highest to give us the overall rank for each school.
HIU’s average debt per graduate is just $55.00, trailing only Kuyper College ($35.36) and Blue Mountain College ($40.00) in this nationwide evaluation.
