FULLERTON, CA :: On May 14 & 15, 2022, Hope International University proudly held its 110th Commencement Ceremonies in the Darling Pavilion of the Lawson-Fulton Student Center. In all, 206 undergraduate and graduate degrees were conferred. These new graduates join more than 14,000 alumni who carry HIU’s legacy of exceptional servant leadership to locations across the globe.
The Commencement was divided into two events to help reduce crowding and allow ample room for social distancing. Graduate Studies students commenced on Friday evening, Traditional and Online Undergraduate on Saturday morning.
The main Commencement Address for both ceremonies was delivered by Bruce Templeton, longtime HIU board member. He encouraged the graduates to include God in their plans, because our plans inevitably go awry, but to include God will work it together for our good. Student speakers included Brianne Bookout and Shawn Dettmer (Graduates), Brandhon Thomas (Traditional Undergraduate), Amy Carisoza- Watson (Online Undergraduate).
The Spring 2022 Commencement Ceremony marks HIU’s 49th year in Fullerton, where the University diligently maintains its commitment to empowering students through Christian higher education to serve the church and impact the world for Christ.
