Research Interests

Professor Dietz's research broadly examines public infrastructures and their failures to better understand social inequalities in the United States. As a human geographer, she use a variety of methodologies, including spatial analysis, GeoAI, ethnography, qualitative interviewing, surveys, remote sensing, and cartography. Her work covers topics such as federally assisted housing, accessible pedestrian infrastructure, disability justice, smart cities, open data, plumbing, and disaster policy.
