The has been a part of the entrepreneurship program at Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business since 2008. PLEASE NOTE: BAN is currently fully invested, and is not actively considering new opportunities at this time.
The Network’s Mission
The primary goal of the Billiken Angels Network is to make a difference through education and advice to current and future businesses in the region. Billiken Angel Network is an investor group that provides infusions of capital and expertise to firms that show promise to make a difference for our economy and our region.
In addition to Billiken Angel Network funds, there is a $1 million sidecar co-investment fund made available by the University from its endowment.
Funding Recipients
The Billiken Angel Network has made funding available to businesses at any stage of business development (seed, start-up, existing or growing) and in any industry (such as retail, wholesale, manufacturing, service, financial, internet or high-tech).
Investor Membership
The Billiken Angel Network is open to accredited investors only. Members may be located anywhere and may come from any industry. Members have a strong commitment to helping develop entrepreneurship through education in addition to investment, and future members who share that interest are the ones most likely to be selected. Workshops
The Billiken Angels Network has also provided free workshops to the community to help start-up entrepreneurs who are thinking about developing a business plan or have a completed or in-process business plan. Workshops have focused on several key elements in the angel investing process including:
- Signs that it is time to consider angel investments
- What angels look for in business plans and potential investments
- How to prepare business plans and pitches for angel investment groups and bankers
- Options for later-stage funding
