Emerson Leadership Institute Hosts St. Louis Internship Program
Throughout the month of July, the Emerson Leadership Institute and the St. Louis Internship Program (SLIP), a division of longtime partner Boys & Girls Club of Greater St. Louis, offered a summer program for rising sophomore high school students. The program gave students a glimpse into college and professional life and prepared them to apply for the SLIP next summer. SLIP’s flagship program is for junior and senior high school students with financial need, and provides students with paid summer internships intensive work readiness training and year-round college and career planning.
The summer program for sophomores gave students a unique glimpse into college life.
Students met with various Â鶹´«Ã½ faculty and staff members as they
learned about different career paths and college majors. The students heard about

While at SLU, students also heard from faculty and staff from different SLU departments,
took a campus tour, and experienced the services and programs that SLU has to offer.
At the conclusion, students presented what they learned to their peers and showcased
the skills they will bring back with them to school this year.
