For some students Spring Break is all about relaxing and sleeping in but for a group of HIU students, it’s about serving and encouraging others.
From March 25 – 29, a group of HIU students will be partnering with AMOR Ministries to build homes for those in need in Mexico. The trip is a part of AMOR’s and will include more than 30 churches bringing over 1200 participants to Mexico to work with AMOR to build 60 homes during Spring Break.
The Hope group will be volunteering as leaders of two camps. In this role they assist with building homes, feeding the other volunteering, delivering tools and materials, and work sight and camp set up.
AMOR co-founder and HIU alumna Gayla Congdon (BA ’77, MA ’89) recently spoke on campus and challenged the HIU community to see how one week of service could impact their lives.
The Hope AMOR group is leaving campus the morning of Saturday, March 23, and returning Friday, March 29.
