Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
SLU LAW is committed to creating and maintaining an environment of respect and inclusivity.
The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is committed to cultivating and maintaining a law school community founded on inclusivity, professionalism, and respect for all its members. The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is dedicated to the recruitment, retention and mentoring of diverse constituencies within the School of Law. Assistant Dean Belinda Dantley and Assistant Director JP Bonnet-Laboy work with students, faculty, staff and alumni to coordinate, develop, and implement programs and events designed to train culturally competent lawyers and attorneys to serve their respective communities.
The program director collaborates with faculty, staff, students, alumni and the St. Louis community to enhance recruitment, retention and mentoring of diverse constituencies within the School of Law.
We strive to demonstrate this inclusiveness in the classroom and in all areas of our
admissions practices, academic advising, student services and activities, curricular
offerings and administrative policies. Our goal is to produce well-rounded and culturally
competent professionals who will respectfully serve their diverse communities. As
part of our Jesuit tradition, Â鶹´«Ã½ remains faithful to the value
of promoting justice and the dignity of all human beings. Likewise, the School of
Law advances academic excellence, freedom of inquiry and respect for individual differences.
These principles underlie our desire to provide an inclusive environment where differences,
whether in religion, age, race, gender (including identity and expression), sexual
orientation and identity, ethnicity, ability, socioeconomic background or ideology,
are heeded, supported and valued in the academic experience.
