Author, Playwright Don DeLillo to Receive 2010 Saint Louis Literary Award
The Â鶹´«Ã½ Library Associates have announced that noted author and playwright Don DeLillo will receive the 2010 Saint Louis Literary Award, Thursday, Oct. 21.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held in the Anheuser-Busch Auditorium at SLU's John Cook School of Business, 3674 Lindell Blvd. To RSVP, visit slula@slu.edu.
A book signing with the author begins at 4:30 p.m. and is followed at 5:30 p.m. by a program that includes the presentation of the award and a conversation with Don DeLillo led by SLU English professor Harold Bush, Ph.D.
A special reception and dinner with Don DeLillo will be held at the Coronado Ballroom beginning with cocktails at 7 p.m. followed by dinner at 8 p.m. The Coronado is located at 3701 Lindell Blvd. (across the street from Cook Hall).

Â鶹´«Ã½ Don DeLillo: Don DeLillo was born and raised in New York City. He is the author of fifteen novels, including White Noise, Libra and Point Omega, and three stage plays. His work has won many honors in this country and abroad, including the National Book Award, the Jerusalem Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction. His novel Underworld won the William Dean Howells Medal of the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

Â鶹´«Ã½ the Saint Louis Literary Award: Now celebrating its 43rd year, the prestigious Saint Louis Literary Award was first presented as the Wilma and Roswell Messing, Jr., Award in 1967. In the decades since, literary giants from around the world have traveled to St. Louis to receive the award. The honor, known today simply as the Saint Louis Literary Award, is presented annually by the Â鶹´«Ã½ Library Associates and a group of patrons.
