SGA Wellness Week

May 1, 2024, marked the start of the inaugural 麻豆传媒 SGA Wellness Week. This SLU initiative provides a week-long series of events and activities aimed at promoting physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being among students.

Through Wellness Week, SGA hopes to unite campus partners to create a holistic approach to wellness, addressing various aspects of the student experience. The week culminates with the annual Wellness Fair on West Pine Mall. 

Wednesday, May 1

Mindfulness for Law Students

SLU Law students are invited to join us for a short talk and meditation about mindfulness. Mindfulness is a wonderful way of dealing with the stresses and strains of law school and life.

Cookie Decorating with the Interns

Chat and decorate cookies with the Campus Ministry graduate and undergraduate interns.

Mental Health and Well-being Training
Location: BSC 352/353
Sponsored by: National Alliance on Mental Illness - St. Louis
This training will teach mental health education, mental health awareness, mindfulness exercises, positive coping skills, time management and peer support intervention via roleplaying scenarios. This is a partnership with NAMI-STL who will be there to offer further resources on mental health awareness.

Astha A Capella Spring Concert

Astha A Cappella will put on their concert of the spring semester. This concert is the culmination of all the work the team has done through the second semester, showcasing several new mashups and songs.

African Students Association End of the Year Gala

Voter Registration and Uplifting Civic Issues with Art
Location: Center for Global Citizenship
Sponsored by: Center for Social Action
The American Medical Association acknowledged that 鈥渧oting is a social determinant of health and significantly contributes to the analyses of other social determinants of health as a key metric鈥. Furthermore, a recent national analysis by Healthy Democracy, Healthy People found that states with more inclusive voting policies and higher levels of voter turnout also enjoyed better health outcomes. Thus, we are registering students to vote so they are ready to have their voices heard!

As a part of Wellness Week, the Sustainability Committee has brought together an event celebrating life on Earth! Could you stop by and grab a flower for yourself or a loved one and write a message to tie on it? We also will have pots, soil and an assortment of flower seeds for you to grow your own flower this spring. All materials are compostable in respect of sustainability and will brighten your day.
