Salvemini is being recognized for her contributions to the understanding of molecular and cellular neuropathic pain. Her highly translational research has resulted in the development of multiple novel therapies that have entered clinical trials.
Salvemini was set to receive the award in April 2020 during a presentation at the ASPET Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology 2020 in San Diego, California. That event was canceled, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
鈥淭his award is a well-deserved honor for Dr. Salvemini, her work embodies the mission and her research gives people hope to improve their quality of life,鈥 said Robert Wilmott, M.D., Vice President for Medical Affairs and Dean of the 麻豆传媒 School of Medicine.
