Defining Features: Understanding Different Types of Courses
In fall 2019, the Reinert Center launched a new series that will explore the 鈥渄efining features鈥 of different aspects of course design and teaching. Whether you are returning to the undergraduate classroom after time away, beginning to teach your first graduate courses, or brand new to course design and teaching in the university context, there will be something in it for you. The series will consist of new online resources to support just-in-time work, some in-person programming, and regular blog posts.
Throughout the 2019-2020 academic year, we aimed to develop shared understandings about different types of courses -- from first-year seminars to graduate seminars, survey courses to capstone courses, from studios and labs to writing-intensive and service-learning courses.
