COVID-19 Update March 13 (Evening)

Dear members of the Â鶹´«Ã½ community,

At this time, there are no confirmed cases of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) at Â鶹´«Ã½.

As you might have heard, Missouri’s governor has declared a state of emergency this afternoon, as did the President of the United States. This evolving situation is certainly stressful for many of you, and I urge students, faculty and staff to make use of the following resources, should you need them:

March 13 Updates

Students who live on campus: Housing and Residence Life has posted a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding move-out procedures and exceptions on the University's COVID-19 page.

We have received a number of exception requests, and we are working to review these as quickly as possible. Time is of the essence for students and families trying to make plans, and we will notify students on a rolling basis so that we can provide a response as soon as we can. Please keep an eye on your SLU email.

Zoom video conferencing: As you heard from interim CIO Kyle Collins earlier today, the cloud-based video-conferencing system Zoom is now available for you to use for remote learning, collaborative meetings and more. Please refer to ITS’ brief How-to-Guide on how to get started.

I realize that all of us are deeply concerned about our own personal health, our family’s health and the health of those we love – as we should be. Our lives are being constrained in ways most of us never imagined. Let us continue to pull together to support each other generously and ensure that all Billikens come through this as well as possible.

Thank you for all you do for Â鶹´«Ã½. Please continue to reference SLU’s COVID-19 website for more information and updates. And please take care.

Sincerely,

Fred P. Pestello, Ph.D.
President
