Led by SLU faculty, SSM Health鈥檚 Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery (CT) and Neonatology programs ranked #1 in St. Louis and #1 in Missouri. Three additional programs also ranked in the top 50 nationally based on overall clinical outcomes, efficacy of care, patient safety, and staffing.

Andrew J. White, M.D., the Robert W. Wilmott Endowed professor and chair of the pediatric department, credits the excellent rankings to the care they offer to patients and families that goes beyond the bedside.

鈥淭his is a tremendous recognition,鈥 White said. 鈥淔or us, it鈥檚 not only about the skill and the quality of our doctors and nurses 鈥 it鈥檚 also about the processes and systems we have put in place that help us deliver outstanding care.鈥

SLU鈥檚 tradition of providing compassionate care, excellent medical education, and service to our greater community stems from its focus on caring for the whole family, and training the next generation of physicians to sustain our mission into the future.
