Health Management, B.S. to Health Administration, M.H.A. Accelerated Program
Â鶹´«Ã½'s accelerated B.S. in health management to the M.H.A. in health administration is designed for students who demonstrate academic success in health management and related coursework. Both of these degrees are offered through SLU's College for Public Health and Social Justice, which is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health.
This accelerated program enables health management majors to obtain their undergraduate and graduate degrees in five years. Students then enter the workforce up to a year earlier than with a traditional two-year M.H.A. program. Students apply to the accelerated program during their junior year, and accepted students begin graduate coursework during their senior year. Students retain undergraduate status, financial aid and tuition rates until their undergraduate degree is conferred after year four. At that time, students attain official graduate student status, pay graduate tuition and become eligible for graduate assistantships.Ìý

Accreditation
The Master of Health Administration is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education, the Council on Education for Public Health, and the Higher Learning Commission.
SLU students in the health management major who meet the eligibility requirements may apply in the fall semester of their junior year.
Eligibility requirements include:
- Students must be in their fifth semester of collegiate study.
- Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.40.
- Students must demonstrate a plan to complete 90 of the 120 credits required for their health management major by the beginning of their fourth year of studies.
- Students must be eligible to complete the accelerated curriculum with no more than 16 credits during any semester in year four of the program.
- Students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing with Â鶹´«Ã½ and the College for Public Health and Social Justice.
- Students must demonstrate the potential for leadership in the field of health management. This can be done through engagement in volunteer activities or work experience.

The accelerated health management B.S./M.H.A. program allows students to use up to 30 graduate credits toward their undergraduate degree, but most students use 28 graduate credits to count for both degrees.Ìý
Students must meet all requirements for the B.S. and the M.H.A. as outlined in their program requirements. In addition, students must have a 3.40 cumulative GPA to be admitted into and continue into the accelerated program, and to progress into the master's portion of the accelerated program.Ìý
Continuation Standards
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.40 in order to participate in the accelerated and graduate program
- Minimum grade of B- in all graduate-level courses
- Minimum grade of C in all B.S. in Health Management major courses
- Minimum grade of C- in major pre-requisite courses
- Minimum grade of D in all core courses
- Minimum grade of D in all remaining general elective courses counting toward the minimum 120 credits required for graduation

Courses and milestones designated as critical (marked with !) must be completed in the semester listed to ensure a timely graduation. Transfer credit may change the roadmap.
This roadmap should not be used in the place of regular academic advising appointments. All students are encouraged to meet with their advisor/mentor each semester. Requirements, course availability and sequencing are subject to change.
