New Faculty Information
Welcome to the Â鶹´«Ã½ School of Medicine!
We'd like to offer some brief introductory information as you begin your academic career shaping the future of medicine here at the Â鶹´«Ã½ School of Medicine.
The Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development (OFAPD) is your primary academic faculty resource at the SLU School of Medicine. Contact us if you cannot locate an answer to your questions within this and other OFAPD webpages.
Email Communications
New faculty receive emails from the OFAPD that seek to welcome, orient and offer pertinent resources and events. Watch for these throughout the first year.
Orientation Breakfast
The Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development at the School of Medicine hosts a semi-annual breakfast for new School of Medicine faculty. Typically, these occur in late January and late July of each year.
During this breakfast orientation session, new faculty learn about the resources available to facilitate their career success and academic advancement. New faculty will learn how the SOM supports them with clinical, research, wellness and teaching resources, among many others.
The breakfast is a great opportunity for new faculty to be introduced to the talented team they are joining: the dean of the School of Medicine, other SOM leadership members, and other new SOM colleagues. New faculty will also be invited to attend the University’s New Faculty Orientation, which acquaints all faculty with the mission and resources of Â鶹´«Ã½ and introduces them to the larger SLU faculty community. All new faculty are strongly encouraged to attend.
